cat vomitting food trails.

my cat just started vomitting 5 or 6 half digested food trails a day. He eats and drinks regular and is not given enough food to over eat. It has been really hot the past few days though. I think maybe he's dehydrated, but water is always available. I fill it constantly all day long. He has short hair and rarely ever has a hair ball. There was some hair in the very first vommit trail. The ones that followed just look like chewed tubes of food. It seems like way too much vomit to be over eating though. He seeems to vomit up everything he eats. This is not normal behavior for him. Anybody have any ideas?
