Fleas around my baby boy

I have little knowledge about fleas, I recently just moved into a house that a friend was renting. She had two indoor cats, and also took care of a litter of kittens. Guess what? They all had fleas. I bombed the place before I moved in. And again the day after. Now I am finding them in my 8 month olds sons hair. I am constantly itching. I hope they don't make him sick. I have an appointment with pest control on Monday. I don't think its going to do any good. We have no pets, but I know fleas can live off humans. I am just wondering if these are ever going to go away.
