scaly and pus-y tumours on hamster's forelegs

Hi there I found two little hamsters abandoned at a building. They both hav lost quite a bit of fur on their belly and legs and have what look like warts growing on their forelegs. They are snow white dwarf hamsters with red eyes. Are there any diseases besides cancer that could be the cause of these warts? Or are they tumours? I'm a little worried about it being contagious cause it looks pretty bad but I cannot possibly dump them , which is an awful thing to do!
