How to help my puppy

Posted by Jason L (24.141.83.216) on May 13, 2007 at 22:59:15:

My puppy is a Labrador, golden retriever mix. Hypothetically this is the ideal family dog, however since we got him we've noticed somewhat vicious streaks. He will be fine one moment and in an instant he will bare his teeth and even attempt at biting. He is only 4 months old, and our dog trainer is saying (after 2 visits) that perhaps he just has chemical imbalances and that we should start thinking of euthanasia. I am completely against the idea, but it seems that my parents won't give it the time he deserves. There are no apparent triggers for him to act like this, however it has been noted that he becomes agitated when in confined spaces. Like I said he is good 90% of the time, but because he will be getting big soon we need to curb this behavior. Please help prove my trainer wrong and suggest a way to help my puppy.
