Coughing Dog

Posted by Tlalit (89.0.228.62) on June 23, 2007 at 08:25:44:

Hi, My dog is about 13 years old and during the last winter started coughing a lot. We took him to the vet who said that he has "Dogs' flu" and gave him antibiotics. He also said that it sounds like there is a problem with his heart, but couldn't diagnose it.

The antibiotics helped for a bit, but it has become a chronic cough and the vet now thinks he may have water retention in his lungs as well. The coughs are every 10-15 minutes and repeat themselves at least 10 times (short, breathy coughs).

Any ideas about homeopathic / alternative treatment that could help?

Thanks, Tlalit.
