Re: Mast Cell growing

Posted by Treesa (58.163.154.12) on August 09, 2007 at 20:49:43:

I have a couple of suggestions: firstly a product called Black Salve by Buck Mountain botanicals. You need to get your vet to order this, as it is potent stuff, but I have had clients use it with excellent effect on tumours that have re-grown. Secondly, there are homeopathic remedies that can help here, as well as supplements such as Vitamin C and herbs as well. I would recommend a good holistic animal practitioner or (truly) holistic vet, not just one whose done a short course! PS - hope Bear is also getting his essential fatty acids in his diet - eg flaxseed oil/fish oil - very important. Best wishes
: My soon to be 12 year old Golden Retriever had a large mast cell tumor surgically removed in March 2007. The tumor has returned with a vengence even after a high dose Prednisone treatment. What else is there to do? I am giving him a diet of rice, chicken, fresh vegetables and fruit. He is still lively, happy, eating well but the tumor gets in his way. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
