As well as Vitamin C as a natural anti-histamine, and the B group vitamins to help with skin condition, and nervous system. I would say the diet needs more: essential fatty acids in the form of oils such as flaxseed, and some pulped green/orange vegies too. But these need to be introduced gradually. Also, the digestive system needs to be looked at (again, see my previous reply_). It's not as complicated as it sounds; if you cant find a practitioner, check out some of the excellent books around: eg Dr Richard Pitcairn.
I have a 7 year old coonhound who has had bad skin allergies since she was young. The vet keeps on putting her on steroids and antibiotics to treat her itchy skin and sores she develops from licking, but its a reoccurring problem. The most recent diagnosis is that she has a weak immune system and is unable to fight allergins, so she gets itchy and licks until her legs look horrible. Is there any suggests for a more permanent fix? Anything more natural? We feed her duck and potato food with no additives, but she needs something else.
