Re: Laminitis

Yes. Obviously diet is very important, so making sure that your horse is not overweight, nor is fed on too many grains, which can trigger an inflammatory process. Having said this, judicious use of psyillium husks to maintain digestive system, is useful. You need to make sure the digestive system is working in top order. Herbs which will help are: burdock, nettles, dandelion, cleavers, chamomile.
Homeopathics help, also. For acute attacks: Aconite & Belladonna 200C once daily for three days, then Bryonia 30C three times daily for 3 days. Also Soaking legs in cold water buckets, and alternating hot/cold soaks 10mins 3x daily to increase circulation.
For chronic condition: Calc. Fluor. 30C aids bone displacement conditions. Nux vomica 30C for digestive balance, and to eliminate toxins (heavy metal contamination thought to be a contributor to this condition).
Also, correcting shoeing from a good farrier is very important.

: My horse has chroniic laminitis. Any suggestions?
