That is the beauty of homeopathy - you don't need a diagnosis necessarily; you work on the symptoms. Not just physical, but mental and emotional as well. In addition, the flower essences (particularly the Bach flowers) can help wonderfully well with emotional/behavioural problems, and also the emotional aspects of health issues. Regarding Materia medica for animals; check out some of the on-line holistic animal practitioner websites which often have good information. Otherwise, Dr George McLeod (now deceased but his books are still in print) has published a series of classic materia medica for dogs, cats, horses and many other animals.

how does one know how to ask for help when a pet is sick and they just have symptoms and we don't know what is wrong with them? How to tell if they are in pain? We have a dog who looks like he can't think very well when he gets sick. The vet doesn't know what is wrong either. How does one post a question to ask for help when we don't know what is wrong?
