I'd start at 30C for Belladonna, but might have 200C on hand if the 30 isn't effective enough. Frequency of dosage though I find is more important in acute fever cases - every 15 mins until improvement. If Ody has been sick over a period of time, I really feel that herbs would be invaluable. Especially the nutritive nervines (ie supporting the nervous system)like Oats and Vervain. Also Astragalus to build up her immune system. And a good liver support - eg St Mary's thistle - unless she's getting that in her Pet Alive tonic (not familiar with that sorry)The virus-fighting herbs like Cat's Claw and Echinacea lymphatic cleanser like Clivers could be a followup combo. It's great that she's eating - a good sign, don't you think? PS - Pulsatilla 30C for the conjunctivitis, and also good generall for symptoms that come and go. Bach flowers I find are good support if they get despondent etc during long illnesses - Oak, Elm, Gorse, Hornbeam are the main ones. Best wishes
and a go: : : Hi Bonnie- what stage is your dog at? There are different remedies according to the symptoms being experienced. If your dog's in the early stages, can you get hold of the nosode? This really helps. Also Belladonna for fever, & Ferrum Phos tissue salt for first stages of infection, etc. If infection is really severe, Hydrastis Can. - but high potency, like 10M - hourly until improvement. : : : Ant tart & similar for respiratory symptoms and mucus. Merc viv and/or Ars album if there is diarrhoea. Vitamin C in high doses (use a buffered powder type) in initial stages particularly, can help fight off the virus. I've also found herbs very helpful. Feed high nutrient liquified food eg cooked up chicken & vegies into broth; no preservatives or commercial foods. : : : : I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on canine distemper. We are treating our dog homeopathically. : : : : Thank you. : : : : Thank you so much for responding. I'm not sure which stage Oby is in. This is her 2nd bout. We thought she was healing in the summer - we only fasted and used mild herbs. When it reoccured I found out about the nosode and we used about 6 bottles of it. We are now trying the Hydrastis Can but it is only 3C - I will order the 10M. What herbs did you use? I am giving the PET Alive liver immune and it seems to be helping. The eye discharge has come back, she gets fever on and off, and she cannot walk. Over all though is better than she has been. She definately has an appetite and I try to give her varied healthy foods. I will order the rememdies you suggest. Thanks again! : : Bonnie : : One more question - what potency would you suggest for the belladonna? : Thank you.
