Hi Nicky Homeopathics should certainly be able to help here. There are two phases of treatment as I see it; firstly tackling the infection: For this I would suggest a combination of remedies: Belladonna in the potency (ie strength) of 1M, and Gunpowder in the same potency, 1M. Not sure if you are familiar with homeopathics but don't worry; find a homeopath and they will know exactly what I mean:-) So - give the Belladonna and Gunpowder remedies hourly for 4 treatments, then 3-4 times daily until improvement is noted (usually 3 or 4 days). Then, you need to repair the bone tissue - for this, the homeopathics needed are Calc. Phos 200C, and Symphytum 30C. Give this combination 3 times daily for a couple of weeks. This should do the trick! Now - how to administer homeopathics to a rabbit - if you get liquid form it will probably have alcohol in it. The best way is to apply homeopathics to the body, not orally. Part the fur on the back, neck or shoulders, and drop 4 drops onto the skin, just pat in the drops to make sure they actually make contact with the skin. That is one dose - easy! Also need to make sure Bunny is receiving a good natural diet. Can also get some colloidal silver and put a few drops in his water (natural anti-infective). Next- if there is a wound, bathe it with warm water to which is added Echinacea and Calendula herbal drops (about 10drops to 1/2 cup of water). Bathe the wound with this. Good luck Nicky - please try everything before you consider amputation - seems so drastic! : HI, hope someone can help! I resued a baby bunny after noticing for a while that it had a bad front leg(neighbours).I took it to the vets and was told he had a bone infection so have been geting the puss out two times per day and giving the poor thing antibiotics 2x a day. He looked like he had got rid of the infection as the puss stopped coming out and the wound closed up with fur growing over the leg for the first time. After stopping the anibiotics his leg has swollen again though the fur is still on the leg and there is no open wound but the vet has given me antibiotics again.... can anyone suggest something to help natural wise or any help at all as i may have to suggest aan amputation which would be a shame at this stage as when he started to use his leg again he was able to jump down the stairs etc where as before on the one leg he would try to land and just fall as his balance is bad. : Didn't intend on having a bunny but have fallen in love with this one as i think he is brave !! Thanks for reading
