Re: Giardia in Adult DogPosted by Julia (58.163.154.199) on October 24, 2007 at 19:39:08: Hi - I'd recommend China Offcinalis as the best remedy - it is for loss of vital fluids, debility, flatulence, dysentery - also for giardia. You need at least 30C potency, and give it every hour for 4 hours, then 3-4 times daily until improvement. I believe some of the bowel nosodes may also help - Gaetner Bach 30C - but you might have trouble getting hold of that. The China should be okay to source. Your dog should also benefit from probiotics from the health food store - to repopulate his gut flora following diarrhoea - and antibiotics, which he's no doubt been given. This will help natural resistance against infections such as giardia. Would also suggest Slippery Elm powder which helps ease diarrhoea and soothe the gastro-intestinal tract. Mix it in water in the consistency of a very runny paste, and mix in dog's food or syringe into side of mouth beforehand. (dont let it gell). I'd also recommend you address the immune issues - colostrum, colloidal silver, vitamin C - all of these will build up his immunity. Th : My 12 year old Golden Retriever appears to have Giardia. We have been treating him with alopathy but he continues to have a dark brown and very smelly diarreah and lots of gas. A friend recommended Calcarea Phos. for infections with liquid loss. His immune system is weak and he may have a kidney problem too. Also had two toes removed surgically due to a malignant tumor earlier this year. Any advice? Follow Ups: |
