Maltese acting scared, nervous

My 2 1/2 year old Maltese is frantically running around, shivering and panting rapidly. She seems to crave closeness, clinging very tightly. She has been spayed and shows no sign of fever or infection. She has been eating and drinking. Right now she's lying in a closet which is not normal for her. She wags her tail when called. No other signs of anything wrong. Can anyone help?
